COVID-19: India reports 2,380 new cases; 13,433 active caseload

Continuing to witness a steady rise in number of COVID-19 cases, India reported 2,380 fresh cases in the last 24 hours with the positivity rate going upto to 0.53 percent as per records of the Health Ministry.

The country reported a total of 313 more cases in the last 24 hours compared to the previous day (2,067). With this the active caseload in the country stands at 13,433.

Out of this over 60 percent spike comes from Delhi as the capital recorded more than 1,000 cases on Wednesday. The DDMA has once again made wearing of facemask in public mandatory.

After Delhi, the Punjab government also made wearing of facemask mandatory in public in fear of a fourth wave.

As for vaccination, 15,47,288 doses were registered during this period which took the number of vaccination jabs administered under the nationwide vaccination drive to 1,87,07,08,111.
