On Wednesday, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) made wearing of facemasks in public mandatory again as a preventive step to control the surge of COVID-19 cases.
As per reports, anybody found without a facemask will have to pay a penalty of Rs 500. A detailed order is likely to released later.
The national capital recorded 632 cases from 14,299 tests on Monday. As per health bulletin issued by the government on Tuesday, the total number of active cases in Delhi stands at 1,947.
