On Friday Prabhakar Sail, the Narcotics Control Bureau's (NCB) prime witness in the Aryan Khan Drugs Case passed away due to heart attack at his home in Chembur. He was 36.
His advocate Tushar Khandare said he didn't suspect any foul play behind his death.
Sail was the bodyguard to K P Gosavi, who was a witness in the drug bust last year. He (Sail) had filed an affidavit levelling serious allegations of a payoff to then NCB zonal chief Sameer Wankhede.
He alleged that while escorting Gosavi, he overheard him discussing a demand of Rs 25 crore and his willingness to "settle" this at Rs 18 crore, of which Rs 8 crore was to be allegedly paid to Wankhede. He also claimed of meeting Shah Rukh Khan's manager Pooja Dadlani.
He was also given protection by the MVA government following this allegation. The NCB initiated an inquiry while Wankhede denied all these allegations.
