SC refuses to hear Nawab Malik's bail plea; Special PMLA court extends custody till May 6

The Supreme Court on Friday refused to hear the bail plea filed by Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik against an order of the Bombay High Court which had rejected his interim application seeking immediate release in the money laundering case which is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The ED arrested Malik on February 23, 2022 after investigating him in connection with a money laundering case linked with India'most wanted fugitive Dawood Ibrahim and his aides.

Malik had challenged the March 15 order of the Bombay High Court which had rejected his application.

Earlier today, the Special PMLA court also extended his custody till May 6, 2022.
