In a tragic incident, atleast 13 people lost their lives and several others were left injured after a bus plunged into the Narmada river in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.
The Maharashtra Roadways bus was going from Indore to Pune when the accident took place.
- The Pune-bound bus fell off the Khalghat Sanju Setu after crashing into the railing off the bridge.
As per official reports, the bus was carrying over 50 passengers. Nearly 15 people have been rescued so far.
The Madhya Pradesh government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased who lost their lives in the bus accident.
As per the Maharashtra CMO, CM Eknath Shinde has directed the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) to provide an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh each to the kin of the deceased.
