23 BMP jawans injured as bus overturns in Bihar's Jamui

On Sunday, 23 Bihar Military Police (BMP) jawans were severely injured after the bus carrying them from Muzaffarpur district overturned in Malaypur area of Bihar's Jamui district.

The bus carrying 30 BMP jawans arrived in Jamui as part of security preparations for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's July 18 programme.

Local police officials present on the spot confirmed the news and said, "All the injured jawan have been moved to Sadar Hospital for treatment. Prima facie, it appears that the driver of the bus fell asleep following which the bus overturned on the road."

The police is present on the spot and is looking into the matter.

It is worth noting that the BMP is the state armed police force for the Bihar Police with headquarters at Patna led by Central Armed Police Force's (CAPF's) officer on deputation for security purposes.
