On Monday, a class 12 student was found dead in her hostel room of a government-aided school in Tamil Nadu's Thiruvallur district.
As per reports, she allegedly hung herself and committed suicide. Her case been shifted to the Crime Branch-Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) as per Madras High Court's ruling, which states that any death inside an educational institution must be investigated by the CB-CID.
Meanwhile, the parents and relatives of the girl staged protests by blocking roads at Thekkalur demanding action into the matter.
The security near the school area and the girl's village was increased following the incident.
- The incident comes in the wake of the suicide of a class 12 student in the Kallakurichi district of the state who died by suicide after alleged torture by teachers a few days ago.
After the death of the student, who purportedly jumped of her hostel's terrace, there were violent protest in the district promoting heavy security deployment around the school and other areas.
