Comedian Raju Srivastava gains consciousness 15 days after suffering cardiac arrest

On Thursday, 15 days after suffering a cardiac arrest, Comedian Raju Srivastava gained consciousness.

"Raju Srivastava gained consciousness today after 15 days. He is being monitored by doctors at AIIMS Delhi," Garvit Narang, personal secretary of Srivastava said.

  • The veteran comedian has been under hospitalization since August 10 after he suffered a heart attack. He was experiencing chest pain and collapsed while working out at the gym.

"Raju's health condition is improving," Narang added.

The 58-year old was running on the treadmill in a gym when he complaint of a chest pain. He underwent an angioplasty the same day.

He rose to fame after participating in the first season of the stand-up comedy show "The Great Indian Laughter Challenge" (2005). The comedian turned politician has since shared the big screen with renowned Bollywood stars.
