Congress leaders and MPs staging protest |
On Friday, the Delhi Police detained Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, P Chidambaram, Shashi Tharoor among others as they were heading towards the Rashtrapati Bhavan as part of their nationwide protest against rise in unemployment, GST rate hike and inflation.
Despite police permission denial and Section 144 imposition, Congress is staging the protest.

Congress party's interim chief Sonia Gandhi, party leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and MP Mallikarjun Kharge among others chose to sport black outfits to mark their support for the protest.
The party's state units are holding similar protests in other parts of the country including Chandigarh, Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Hyderabad, and Bihar.
