J-K: Terrorist Bitta Karate's wife among 4 employees sacked by govt over terror links

On Saturday, the Jammu and Kashmir government sacked four employees, including the wife of terrorist Bitta Karate who is facing terror charge and is also an accused in the killing of Kashmiri Pandits.

The four have been dismissed from services for terror links.

  • Along with Karate's wife, Assabah Arzoomand Khan, the government has also dismissed three others including Muheet Bhatt, a scientist at the University of Kashmir. The other two to be dismissed were Majid Hussain Qadri, Assistant Professor at Kashmir University and Syed Abdul Mueed, IT Manager.

  • Mueed is the son of Syed Salahuddin, chief of Pakistan based terror group Hizbul Mujahideen.

Under Article 311 of the Constitution, the government can sack it's employees from services without any enquiry. The dismissed employees can only approach High Court for relief.

The Jammu and Kashmir government led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has been regularly sacking employees for involvement in anti-national activities by invoking Article 311 of the Constitution.
