Indian Navy Pilot ejects safely as MiG-29K aircraft crashes off Goa coast

The Indian Navy in a statement said that on Wednesday, a MiG-29K fighter aircraft has crashed during a routine sortie off the Goa coast after developing a technical malfunction while it was returning to the base.

"The pilot ejected safely and was rescued in a swift search and rescue operation", the Navy stated. He was said to be in a stable condition.

A Board of Inquiry (BoI) has been ordered to investigate the cause of the crash.

It was the fourth accident involving the MiG-29K since 2019.
