Delhi: Primary schools to remain shut from Nov 5 till pollution situation improves

 

Due to the worsening of air pollution in Delhi, CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday informed that primary schools in the national capital will be shut from tomorrow i.e November 5 till the pollution situation improves.

"We're talking all steps to control the pollution situation. In lieu of that, we're shutting down all primary schools in Delhi from tomorrow.... Also shutting down outdoor activities for all classes above Class 5," ANI quoted CM Kejriwal.

Addressing a press conference with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwat Mann, Kejriwal added that the government is also planning whether to implement the odd-even scheme for vehicles.

"We're also mulling whether the odd-even scheme for vehicles should be implemented," he added.

  • For the second straight day, the Air Quality in Delhi continued to remain in the "severe" category on Friday.

Meanwhile the Supreme Court has agreed to hear a plea in connection with the Delhi Air Pollution on November 10.
