On Wednesday, Bajaj Auto and British motorcycle company Triumph have unveiled their co-developed motorcycles, Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, in India.
The two companies which formed a global partnership in 2017 launched these bikes globally last week in London.
The Triump Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2.33 lakh, with the introductory price for the first 10,000 customers set at Rs 2.23 lakh. It will be available from mid-this month, while the Scrambler 400 X, whose price is yet to be announced, will be available by October this year.
Bajaj Auto MD Rajeev Bajaj said, "we are hopeful of (achieving) significant volume" adding that the motorcycles will be produced at Bajaj Auto's new manufacturing facility in Chakan, which currently has a capacity to produce 5,000 units of these bikes per month.
Over 100 Triumph World showrooms will come up across 80 cities within this fiscal year, the company said.
