Jaya Prada Sentenced to Jail, Fined in Old Case |
Jaya Prada, a renowned actress and former Rajya Sabha member, reportedly received a sentence of six months in jail and a fine of Rs 5000 in an old case.
According to reports, Jaya Prada, along with her business partners Ram Kumar and Raja Babu, owned a movie theatre in Chennai several years ago. However, due to significant losses, they had to close down the theater.
Allegedly, the staff members filed a case against Jaya Prada, accusing her of not repaying the deducted ESI amount from their salaries. Consequently, the Labor Government Insurance Corporation filed a case against all three business partners in a Chennai court for non-payment of dues.
Jaya Prada acknowledged the issue and assured the court that she would clear the theater staff's dues, requesting the dismissal of the case. However, her request was reportedly denied, resulting in the aforementioned sentence. Ram Kumar and Raja Babu, her business partners, were also found guilty in the case.
Further details regarding this matter are yet to be disclosed. Jaya Prada was a prominent actress during the late '70s and '80s, known for her work in Telugu and Hindi films, including "Siri Siri Muvva," "Sargam," "Sindoor," "Maa," and "Ooriki Monagadu."
