Across generations, women have faced societal judgment and challenges, yet they rise, defy stereotypes, and shape their own futures. Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan on Zee TV tells the story of Ganga Mai (Shubhangi Latkar), a single mother who raises her three daughters: Sneha (Amandeep Sidhu), Sahana (Srishti Jain), and Soni (Vaishnavi Prajapati)—with dignity, teaches them to stand independently, and proves that daughters are a source of pride. Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan premieres on 22 September 2025 and will air every day at 9:00 PM on Zee TV.
Actor Sheizaan Khan joins the ensemble as Siddhant aka Siddhu, a feared yet soft-hearted moneylender. Adapted from Zee Kannada’s Puttakana Makkalu, the show celebrates courage, resilience, and the spirit of women against the vibrant backdrop of Varanasi, produced by Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s Dreamiyata Dramaa.
Mangesh Kulkarni, Chief Channel Officer, Zee TV said: At Zee TV, we have been curating a content mix that reflects the many flavours of our society and its aspirations. With shows like Saru, Tumm Se Tumm Tak, Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, and now Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, we are bringing forth stories that are rooted in culture yet contemporary in their outlook. Each of these narratives highlights unique struggles, relationships, and journeys of empowerment, reinforcing Zee TV’s promise of being a platform that celebrates real emotions and everyday heroes.
Raghavendra Hunsur, Chief Content Officer, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd said: Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan is the story of a woman abandoned by her husband but refusing to give up, choosing instead to raise her three daughters with strength and dignity. What we believe in the most is not just her struggle, but the everyday grace with which she turns hardship into hope, teaching her daughters to dream and stand tall. Tested and loved in the South markets of ZEE, this story now comes to a wider audience, and we believe it will resonate deeply with families across India.
Shubhangi Latkar shared: Ganga Mai is not just a character; she is a symbol of every woman who chooses dignity over despair. Despite being abandoned, she does not allow bitterness to define her life. Instead, she turns her pain into strength and raises her daughters with values of compassion, resilience, and self-respect. Portraying her has been an emotionally enriching journey for me.
Amandeep Sidhu said: Sneha is the firebrand of the family, fiercely protective, outspoken, and driven by the dream of becoming a District Collector. She channels her anger about her father’s abandonment into a mission to uplift her family. Playing Sneha makes me feel powerful because she is a woman of purpose who never backs down.
Srishti Jain added: Sahana is the quiet nurturer. She holds the family together with her warmth and her exceptional cooking skills. She is caught between Ganga Mai and Sneha often but emerges as the voice of balance and wisdom. This character has made me appreciate the strength in being gentle.
Vaishnavi Prajapati said: Soni brings the spark and innocence to the household. She is playful yet mature for her age, excels in sports and academics, and even manages the mess accounts! I love playing her because she reminds me of how curiosity and optimism can keep a family’s spirit alive.
Sheizaan shared: Siddhu is a fascinating character– feared by many, yet deeply emotional and guided by his mother’s wishes. He appears intimidating, but he is fair and just at heart. His life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Sneha, whose strength reminds him of his own mother. This role feels very close to me personally, and I am grateful to return to Zee TV with such a layered, emotionally charged part.
