Skyscanner hosts its maiden ‘Snack Transit’ Pop-Up in India

Global travel app Skyscanner, brought its first-ever Snack Transit Pop Up to India, offering a food truck and convenience store style experience in Delhi and Mumbai. The initiative marked a major step in the travel app’s move beyond the digital space, bringing global travel inspiration to life through flavour and discovery. The pop up connected to Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2026 Report and its Shelf Discovery trend, which highlights that 79 per cent of Indian travellers enjoy exploring local supermarkets abroad to experience new cuisines and cultures.

Held at Select CityWalk in Delhi on 14 November and Carter Road in Mumbai on 15 November, the event let visitors sample and collect snacks from 16 countries, including items like Kit Kat Matcha, Sriracha Chilli Topaki, Tim Tam and Coca Cola Cherry. The experience turned snacking into a cross cultural journey that appealed to Gen Z travellers, young professionals, families, students and regular travellers drawn to the mix of global flavours and wanderlust.

Reflecting on the activation, Neel Ghose, Travel Trends and Destinations Expert, Skyscanner, said, "The Skyscanner Snack Transit isn’t just about food; it’s about the way we travel today. Curiosity has become the new currency of travel, and what used to begin with a search bar now starts with a spark of discovery - sometimes on a supermarket shelf, sometimes in a city street. By reimagining global snacks as symbols of exploration, we wanted to show how travel inspiration can be both tangible and universal. For us at Skyscanner, this activation marks a step forward in connecting travellers to the world through inspiring real-world experiences."

At the centre of the pop up was a vibrant food truck where guests redeemed a complimentary snack by scanning a QR code to download the Skyscanner app and explore the Travel Trends 2026 Report. Interactive zones added to the experience, including trivia based games like the Spin Wheel and Claw Machine, along with a Photo Booth offering instant print souvenirs. Visitors also shared their Snack Transit moments on Instagram, extending the excitement online across both cities.
