India has overtaken Russia as the third worst-hit country India has overtaken Russia as the third worst-hit country by coronavirus after the total number of cases crossed 6.9 lakh on Sunday. The Union Health Ministry reported 24,248 cases and 425 deaths in the last 24 hours. The fresh cases and deaths have pushed the total cases in the country to 6,97,413 and the death count to 19,693.
The recovery rate stands at 60.85 per cent, with 4,24,433 patients across the country having recovering from the highly contagious disease.
Mumbai on Sunday recorded 1,311 new cases taking its tally to 84,125.With 2,420 recoveries and 69 deaths, Mumbai has now recorded 55,883 recoviers and 4,896 deaths.The Active cases now stand at 23,346.This Metropolitan recovery rate is now 66 per cent.
Mira Bhayander continues to see the surge in cases with it's highest single day spike with 303 cases taking the toll to 4,314 Cases. With 125 new recoveries and 4 new deaths the toll reached to 3,071 recoveries and 162 deaths.The Active cases in this region now stands at 1,071 cases.
