Nair Hospital once again opened to NON Covid Patients too

After having treated over 6000 Covid-19 patients, the BMC run Nair Hospital is once again opening at doors to Non-Covid patients. For now 150 beds have been reserved for general patients and some of Outpatient department(OPD) have also started.

Nair Hospital one of the largest BMC run hospitals, had been converted to a dedicated Covid-19 facility, with a total of 1,043 beds including 110-bed ICU. This week Nair Hospital opened its doors again to treat Non covid patients as well.

Select OPD's such as cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, psychiatric departments have also started.

It was in the month of April that Nair Hospital started transferring all its non coronavirus patients  to its other BMC-run facilities,paving way for Covid-19 facility. Nair Hospital played a very important role when Covid-19 cases, were shooting up the city and there was an acute shortage of beds. So far the hospital has treated 6,085 patients and delivered 500 Covid 19 positive babies.
