Virgil Van Dijk With Kevin De Bruyne and Pep Guardiola after Full Time

After losing the title their Premier League crown to Liverpool, Manchester City made a statement to other teams in the league when they ruthlessly dispatched the newly crowned Champions Liverpool,4-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
Many expected City to go easy on The Reds as the title race was already over but Pep's outgoing champions were in no mood to do so.After giving Liverpool a well deserved Guard Of Honour before the match nobody could have predicted what's to come.
Liverpool Dominated the early possession with long balls from the back and Mo Salah came the close to open the scoring in the 19th minute only to see his shot hit the post.Joe Gomez and Raheem Sterling had been the centre of attention since the last meeting between this two teams at Anfield. They would even have tensions off the field during national duty for England. Gomez pulled down Sterling in the box and gave away a penalty.Kevin De Bruyne has taken upon him the penalty duty and cooly dispatched from the spot at 25th Minute.
Raheem Sterling finally got the better of this former team when he made it 2-0 at 35th minute little help from poor defending from Gomez.Phil Foden has been in a superb form since the restart and after assisting Sterling for the second goal, he scored a superb lob over the outrushing Allison to make it      3-0 at Half Time.
City added a fourth thanks to an own goal from Chamberlain.Liverpool where just not at their clinical best and could have lost 5-0 if VAR didn't interfere to cancel out Mahrez Goal in Injury Time.
Meanwhile Real Madrid went 4 points clear of Rivals Barcelona at top of the table with a narrow 1-0 win against Getafe thanks to their Captain Ramos penalty in the 79th minute. With 5 games to go Zidane's men will be thinking that the title is nearly there.
