Uttar Pradesh Government's, Cabinet Minister and Legendary Cricketer Chetan Chauhan passed away today(26th August) at the age of 73. On July 11, Chauhan was admitted to SGPGI Lucknow after his covid report turned out positive. He had problems with kidney and blood pressure. After both of his kidneys failed, he was shifted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on August 15. Chetan Chauhan was on ventilator support only after being admitted to Medanta Gurugram.
The Corona report of Chetan Chauhan came back positive after being negative twice.
About the Legend- Chetan Chauhan
He was born on 21 July 1947 in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. Currently he was a BJP MLA from Naugawa Assembly seat in Amroha district. He had charge of the Home Guard Ministry in the Yogi government.
Chetan Chauhan's cricketing career
The pair of Gavaskar and Chauhan had scored 3,127 runs in 60 innings of the Test at an average of 54.85. Both made a total of 11 century partnerships, including 10 for the first wicket. This former India opener scored 2084 runs in 40 Tests and his highest score was 97. Chauhan also played 7 ODIs for India.
