The gang operated a WhatsApp group with over 900 members, selling subscriptions to Jio Hotstar and other TV channels via BOS IPTV. Customers received app links, user IDs, passwords, and paid through QR codes. The money was transferred to multiple bank accounts, UPI IDs, and post office accounts to conceal the trail.
The network had connections extending to Punjab and Rajasthan. Police are now tracking five more suspects, including the main operator Vikram Vatsa. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Information Technology Act, and Copyright Act. The accused have been produced in court.
