Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has advocated handing over the command of the party to a non-Gandhi person. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has supported her elder brother and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi in which he said that a person from outside Gandhi family should be appointed as Congress President. Priyanka said,"perhaps (resignation) is not in the letter but elsewhere he said that none of us should be the president of the party and I fully agree with him. I think the party should find its way too."
This claim has been made in a new book 'India Tomorrow'. Its authors are Pradeep Chibber and Harsh Shah and it was published on 13 August. In the book, Priyanka Gandhi has said that even if a party president is not from the Gandhi family, he will be their 'boss'. Vadra said that if he (party president) tells me tomorrow that I need you not in Uttar Pradesh but in Andaman and Nicobar, then I will happily go to Andaman and Nicobar.
