With Inter Milan and Manchester United through to the Semis, it was to be seen who would join them as Shaktar Donetsk took on Basel while Wolves took on Sevilla.
Wolverhampton Wanderers or simply known as Wolves took on the most successful team in Europa League Sevilla on Tuesday. Wolves dominated the first half but struggled to make many clear chances. They got the best chance from the penalty spot in the 13th minute. Raul Jimenez had converted all his previous 8 penalties this season but failed to convert this one as his miss proved too costly for Wolves. An 88th Minute Header from Lucas Ocampos proved to be the winner and crush wolves heart and put Sevilla through to the Semis to face against Manchester United.
Shaktar Donetsk faced of against FC Basel in a one sided match as they thrashed Basel 4-1 to reach the last 4 and set up a match against Inter Milan. They started the match strong and went ahead inside 100 seconds as Junior Moraes headed the ball in. 20 minutes later they went 2-0 up through Taison deflected shot. They made the game safe in the 75th minute when Alan Patrick scored from the spot to put the game to bed at 3-0. A fourth goal followed 13 minutes later as Dodo made it 4-0 for the Ukrainian side. A consolation goal for Basel came in injury time as van Wolfswinkel scored to make the scoreline 4-1.
The Semi Finals will take place on August 16(August 17 in India) and 17th August (18th August in India).
