It's the same old story for Manchester City. They will somehow manage to find a way to lose in the Quarter Finals. This year after beating Real Madrid in Last 16, it looked it might be their year with one legged ties in knockout stages but the once again did what they do "Typical City" the team that builds you up to let you down.

They faced off against Lyon who upsetted Juventus in the last 16 and made another giant step. Before the match both knew the winner will face Bayern in the Semis who thrashed Barca 8-2.

Lyon dominated the first half an took the lead through Cornet in the 24th minute. Kyle Walker played him on and Cornet made no mistake in getting his shot pass City keeper Ederson.

City finally started to look better in the second half and kept on creating chances and got the equalizer in the 69th minute through star man Kevin De Bruyne. It looked like City would now Dominant the game but Lyon had other plans.

Lyon Manager Rudi Garcia brought on Dembele for Depay which at first to be a tricky move but it payed off. He was deemed inside for his goal despite a lengthy controversial VAR check as he was played on and he had put his shot between the legs of Ederson to give Lyon the lead again in the 79th minute.

Perhaps the turning point game in the 86th minute when Raheem Sterling, City's leading scoring this season missed an open goal from 5 yards out to make it 2-2. That missed prove very costly as just a minute later another mistake from Ederson allowed Dembele to make it 3-1.

City's adventure comes to end here. They won't have to wait 2 years though to play again in UCL as their ban has been overturned by CAS.
