Supreme Court |
On Friday, the Supreme Court allowed 3 Jain Temples to be opened for 2 days in Mumbai for the holy Paryushan Season with strict guidelines to follow with COVID-19 protocols.
"We find it very strange that every activity they are following involves commercial interests. They are willing to take the risk when money is involved but when it comes to religion, they say there is COVID and we can't do this or that" said Chief Justice of India S A Bobde while allowing three Jain temples to open for 2 days on August 22 and August 23.
With the Ganesh Chaturthi season also due, the bench made it clear that is it making exception only in this case and that temples will be closed in Mumbai until further notice from the State.
The COVID-19 Pandemic has already stressed out people so praying and allowing rituals may help people to reduce their mental stress a little bit. The Jain Temples will be opened in Dadar,Chembur and Byculla.
