A young man who tried committing suicide on Facebook Live was saved by a Facebook officer. It took almost 5 hours to save the young man.
As soon as the incident came to Facebook's attention, a Facebook officer from Ireland called the Cyber Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police Dr. Avinash Roy and told that the young man is committing suicide. The FB officer gave the address(Mandavali area in Delhi) and mobile number of the youth to the Delhi Police. As soon as the police reached, they came to know that the phone number and Facebook account belonged to the wife and the husband had gone to Mumbai's Bhayandar 14 days ago.
Roy, the Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police, immediately contacted Mumbai Cyber Cell Deputy Commissioner Bal Singh Rajput and Dr. Rashmi. Then Delhi Police informed the Mumbai Cyber Police about the suicide. While Mumbai Police tried to contact the person, the person's phone was also switched off.
When Mumbai Police investigated more, then the address of the person living in Delhi was found in Bhayandar, and the police team reached the house in Bhayandar and saved the person through counselling. He said he tried to commit suicide because he used to work as a cook in the hotel and was stricken with the problems of life. Being saved from committing suicide, a wave of happiness went upon his family members.
