The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has busted a major racket after they caught and seized a container which contained 18.5 metrics of wood logs.
According to the officials the Red Sandel were on their way to be smuggled to UAE but was not successful as it was intercepted at the Nheva Sheva port in Navi Mumbai and wood logs worth 7.41 Crore Rs were recovered. One person has also been arrested in this case.
The DRI had received information from an anonymous source that an attempt to smuggle red sandel in disguise of some other goods in a container to the Port Jabel Ali in UAE will be made soon. The container had started sailing from Gateway of India in Mumbai and would have soon made it out to clear ocean if it was not intercepted at Nheva Sheva.
