Yesterday Gamers in India received a major shock from the government when the decided to ban the famous multiplayer PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) due to the conflicts with China.
This move comes after a similar move which took place in June when the government decided to ban 59 Chinese Apps. This Sunday on PM's Mann Ki Baat on YouTube, he urged young talents of the country to make games and make games in India which got a lot of dislikes.
Just moments after the announcement of the game, popular Indian PUBG Gamer Naman "Mortal" Mathur tweeted that "Toofan AaGaya Hai"(The Storm Has Arrived). He would later say in his stream that it's a big decision by the government but "nothing is bigger than the safety of the country".
PUBG was launched as a Computer Game by South Korean company Bluehole in 2017 but Chinese Company Tencent developed a mobile version of it in 2018.
Earlier many petitions where signed to ban the game has negative effects of the game was seen especially in the youth.
PUBG Mobile by far was the most downloaded game in India in 2018 and 2019 and generated a create amount of revenue with around 200 million downloads.
Some didn't not took the announcement lightly as Abhijeet Andhare a professional gamer tweeted out tagging PM Modi and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju that "Few days ago government spoke about creating more jobs in gaming sector and now they have banned an app which gave countless jobs to aspiring gamers in this country. PUBG created hope for millions of kids around the country."
According to some reports it is estimated that if the ban is not lifted than China will face a loss of around 14 Billion $ in revenue.
