On Thursday, the opposition Congress party in Karnataka has passed down a noticed to initiate a No Confidence Motion Against the BJP lead government by B S Yediyurappa.
The leader of opposition party Siddaramaiah gave the notice in the Assembly and said that the Cheif Minister has lost the confidence of the house.
Assembly Speaker Vishweshkar Hegde said that despite Congress's demand for an immediate action on the no confidence notice, time would be allotted to discuss the notice before the session concludes on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, the Congress Legislature Party decided to pass a no confidence motion after the news of sting operation broke down alleging Yediyurappa's family bearing in government matters and involved in corruption over transfers of officers and clearances of projects.
The Congress has also accused BJP to have pushed the state into a 'debt trap' into the wake of Covid-19 crisis. Yediyurappa's son Vijayendra has said to a private TV Channel that the Congress's charges are lies and based on false accusations.
