People have started to Roam on Marine Drive without safety precautions. Who is to be blamed for this, the people? The BMC? Or the Police?

Some people will never learn. In the time of a global pandemic crisis when there is no particular vaccine available, it is up to us citizens to take some responsibilities to ensure the safety of our healths and our loved ones. Yet there are some "idiots" who can't be taught basic things.

Since the ease of restrictions of Lockdown,The BMC have complained that a large number of people are gathering and ignoring social distancing norms and not wearing masks while strolling down the infamous promenade of Mumbai, Marine Drive.

Marine Drive, the 3.6 km long promenade is a tourist attraction in Mumbai. It is also known as Queens Necklace because at night when the streetlights are on and viewed from elevated point it appears as string of pearls in a necklace shape.

Over the past weekend the BMC has fined around 85 people who have seen to be ignoring safety precautions. Out of this numbers, 45 were fined by on Saturday alone and the BMC labelled them as "Covidiots".

Apart from realising their mistakes, the people are fighting against the BMC and the Mumbai Police when they try to talk to them. After a lot of complaints the BMC had reduced the fine for not wearing masks from Rs 1000/- to Rs 200/- as the motive is to spread awareness and not collect money.

Around 432 people have fined from the A Ward of Mumbai. The BMC have so far collected around Rs 9000/- as a fine from the citizens. Some people have complained that even Section 144 is not working as the Police are unable to get control of the situation.

If these people don't understand what they are doing then they are endangering the lives of millions of people and if they don't stop then the government might not have any other choice but to enforce Lockdown again.
