PM Modi will meet the CM's of the 7 worst hit states by COVID-19

 

The number of Covid-19 cases keep on rising in the country. Yesterday India reported around 89,000 new cases as the caseload increased to 54,94,410. For the third day running, India witnessed some good news as it recorded more than 90,000 Recoveries in a single day. Now it is reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have a virtual meeting with the Chief Minister's of the 7 worst affected states in India on Wednesday.

The 7 worst affected states in India are Maharashtra,Tamil Nadu,Karntaka,Andhra Pradesh,Delhi,Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. These states are recording the most new cases and deaths. PM Modi will meet with the CM's of these states to review the situation.

Out of the majority of the cases are from the top 5 worst affected states i.e Maharashtra,Tamil Nadu, Karntaka, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra alone records the most with around 40%.

This 5 states are continuously adding higher proportions to caseload. According to Health Department, Around 52% out of 92,605 cases came from these 5 states and Maharashtra alone had a high 22.16% followed by Karntaka(9.08%), Andhra Pradesh (8.9%), Uttar Pradesh (6.2%) and Tamil Nadu(6%).

PM Modi last had a review meeting on August 11,in which he had interacted with the 10 worst hit affected states at that time namely Maharashtra,Tamil Nadu,Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Gujarat, Punjab, Karnataka, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.
