Mohammed Salah with the hattrick for Liverpool

The new season of Premier League is upon us. Just after 46 days when the 2019-20 Season draw to a close, the new season kicked off yesterday with "The New Normal" with closed doors. The Premier League made one Change, as they disallowed the continuation of 5 Substitute in a match and reverted back to 3 substitute per game.

Newly Promoted Fulham started the season at Craven Cottage against FA Cup and Community Shield winners Arsenal. The Gunners had added Willian to their attack power from Chelsea and Gabriel in the defence as they both were handed their debuts.

Arsenal took the lead inside 8 minutes when Willian shot was saved only for Lacazette to thump it in from 2 yards out to put the Gunners in front. By that Goal Alex Lacazette became the first player in Premier League history to score the opening goal of the season 2 times having done so in 2017-18 season as well.

Willian had a point to prove to his Former team Chelsea. He went to put 2 more assist in the game, one for Centre Back Gabriel who had a great start to his Arsenal career in the 49th minute and one for Captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the 59th minute to make it 3-0 for Arsenal. If Fulham were to survive this season they have to be stronger than they were in 2018-19 season when they were relegated.

The Reigning Champions Liverpool took on last year's Championship winners Leeds United who were back in the Premier League for the first time since 2004,led by Manager Marcelo Biesla.

Only 3 times had retained the title in the Premier League (Manchester United,Chelsea and Manchester City). Jurgen Klopp had not made more signings than the other teams in the league so it was a similar looking Eleven for the Reds as they faced off against Leeds at Anfield.

This match would go on to become a opening day Classic as Liverpool beat Leeds United 4-3. Liverpool lead 3 times through Mohammed Salah's penalty in the 4th minute,Van Dijk's header in the 20th minute and Salah's volley in the 33rd minute only for Leeds to come back 3 times through Jack Harrison in the 12th minute, Patrick Bamford in the 30rd minute and Mateusz Klich in the 66th minute to make it 3-3.

But Liverpool kept their nerve and won another penalty in the 87th minute through Leeds record signing Rodrigo Moreno foul on Fabinho. Salah completed his hat trick by putting the ball in the net to make it 4-3 for Liverpool. Leeds United received a lot of applause from the Pundits and Journalists as they signalled that they want to stay.

In other games Crystal Palace Defeated Southampton in a full contest 1-0 thanks to Wilfried Zaha goal in the 13th minute. His second was ruled out by VAR for being offside. He had a chance to wrap up the game in the 90th minute but failed to take his chance. A minute later an outstanding save from Palace keeper Guaita kept the score 1-0 as Palace hanged on the win.

The last game of the day saw Newcastle United beat West Ham United 2-0 away thanks to goals from new signings Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick in the 56th and 87th minute respectively as Steve Bruce's men started in a positive way.
