Union Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that a Covid-19 vaccine is likely to be available by early next year and the government is planning it's 'emergency authorization' for High Risk patients and asserting that he will take the first shot to address any 'trust deficient' regarding it's safety.
According to his statement, No fixed date is set for the arrival of the vaccine but he believes it will appear in the first quarter of the next year i.e 2021.
Vardhan announced this statement by interacting with his social media followers on Sunday Samvad Platform. He would go on to answer many queries regarding Covid-19 and would also go on to explain the Government's procedure to handle the situation.
He stated that he the Government is taking all the necessary precautions in Human Trials of vaccine and he will happily take the first dosage of the new vaccine if people feel that the vaccine may be 'untrustworthy'.
According to WorldoMeter stats India has registered 48,50,887 cases out of which around 37,80,107 have recovered from this virus. Around 79,784 people have lost their lives and the active number of cases in India comes up to 9,90,996.
