Workers of Shiv Sena Attacks Retired Navy Officer for forwarding Cartoon of CM

A Group Of Shiv Sena Workers headed by 'pramukh' of the party unit Kamlesh Kadam in Kandivali, alleged attacked a Senior Retired Navy Officer, Madan Sharma on Friday for forwarding a cartoon on CM Uddhav Thackeray in a WhatsApp group.

The Police said that they have arrested the Kadam and one of his colleagues. The Cartoon potrayed Thackeray, Pawar and Sonia Gandhi which he had shared into the Resident WhatsApp Group.

Sharma's Daughter, Dr Sheela Sharma said that none of the residents had reacted to the cartoon shared by her father but someone had informed Kadam about this.

A few minutes after 10 am on Friday, someone called Sharma and asked his address and stated why did he shared the cartoon. Sharma replied that he had only forwarded the message and the called identified himself as Kamlesh Kadam.

An unidentified man called on the intercom and told him to come down. When he arrived down there were around 8-10 men waiting for him. He would once again explain that he only forwarded the message but they started attacking him.

The grabbed him by his collar and took him out of the society premises and started assualting him. Sharma was somehow able to escape. He had suffered injuries to both his eyes. He would later file an FIR in Samta Nagar Police Station in Kandivali.

Kadam and his colleagues were booked for voluntarily causing grievous hurt,forming and unlawful assembly and rioting under the Indian Penal Code.

Sharma's Daughter said that his eyes had become red after the attack and was facing headaches so they took him for a CT Scan.

Former CM of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis said that the attack was 'extremely sad and shocking' and demanded a strong action from Udhaav.

Bhatkhalkar tweeted that the attack on a retired Navy Officer was sick and was a demonstrative of Sena's mentality. "The CM is sitting at home and running a dictatorship" he added.

Already people are angry with Shiv Sena and Udhaav Thackeray but this is something very serious which even the CM cannot deny about it. We are still waiting for his response on this assualt.
