The Game 5 of the NLCS saw the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Atlanta Braves 7-3 to force the game into Game 6. After the Dodgers slammed 15 runs in Game 3, Braves showed their batting power by hitting 10 runs in Game 4. Both of these teams have showed that why both of them are heavy favourites to win the World Series this year.

Atlanta Braves took the lead in the bottom of the 1st innings through a sac fly from Travis d'Arnaud. The Braves then doubled their lead in the bottom of the 2nd thorough an RBI single from Pache to make it 2-0 for the Braves.

After 3 scoreless innings for Dodgers, they got their first run of the match on the board through a solo home run to centre field by Corey Seager. This was his 4th home run of the postseason.

History was written in the top of the 6th innings when two players with the same name faced off against each other in the postseason. Dodgers's Will Smith faced off Against Braves's Will Smith. It was Dodgers's Smith who got the better of this face off as he slammed a 3 run home to put the Dodgers up by a score of 4-2.

After being originally judged as Hit By Pitch which was later overturned, Taylor got a double in the top of the 7th for the Dodgers. He was then sent home through an RBI double by Mookie Betts as the Dodgers went 5-2 up.

Corey Seager then slammed his second home run of the game, this time a 2 run one in the right centre field to open up the game and extend the Dodgers lead by 5 runs. He now has 5 home runs this postseason.

There was no comeback from the Braves this time as the game finished 7-3 in favour of the Dodgers. With 2 games left to go, the Braves would be hoping to avoid a Game 7 and finish the series tonight with a win and reach the World Series.
