During an online press conference on Wednesday, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia announced that all Schools will remain closed until further orders are given in view of the Covid-19 situation.
The Delhi Government had earlier announced that schools will remain closed till 31st October,2020. Now with the date coming closer, the announcement has been officially made and all schools will remain shut and continue to conduct online classes.
In the conference he said "We keep getting feedback from parents that they are really concerned about whether it is safe to reopen schools. It is not. Wherever schools have reopened, Covid-19 cases among child have risen. So we have decided that as of now schools in the National Captial will not reopen. They will continue to be closed until further orders."
Schools and Colleges have been shut across the country since the pandemic began in the 2nd week of March. Earlier classes 9-12 were allowed to go to schools and colleges for voluntary basis but the Delhi Government decided against it and kept the schools close.
As of the Covid-19 situation, India has seen a dip in number of cases as it recorded 43,893 new cases on Tuesday with more than 58,439 recoveries. The caseload is near the 80 lakh mark with 79,90,322 cases out of which 72,59,509 have recovered from this deadly infectious virus.
