Jordan Pickford with the challenge on Virgil Van Dijk

After 2 weeks of International Football, Club Football returned to for an action packed Saturday across Europe with some big matchups including the 226th Derby Della Madonnina( The Milan Derby).

Kicking things off in Italy, the biggest fixture in Italian Football took place again when Inter Milan hosted arch city rivals AC Milan. Both teams are not the powerhouse anymore they used to be in the 90s and 00s but both have shown pretty significant in the past 2 years especially Inter when they finished 2nd just 1 point behind Juventus.

AC Milan had made a great start to the season with 3 wins in a row and had Zlatan Ibrahimovic back after he was tested negative for COVID-19. Meanwhile Inter has won 2 and Drew 1 in their first three games and were looking to a better than last time and win the league.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic won a penalty in the 11th minute when he was brought down in the box by Alexander Kolarov. He took the penalty himself and saw his effort saved by Handanovic but he pouched on the Rebound to make it 1-0. 3 minutes later, Zlatan added a second goal in the 16th minute to make it 2-0 after he converted a low cross from Rafael Leao at the back post.

From one Former Manchester United striker to another. Romelu Lukaku who was Inter's leading goalscorer last season, got one back for Inter just before the half hour mark when he converted a low cross from Perisic inside the six yard box to make it 2-1. There were no more goals in the game as chances came for both sides but didn't go in as the I Rossoneri held the 3 points and go top of the table.

From Italy to England, another City Rivarlry took place at the Goodison Park when High Flying in form Everton took on their Merseyside neighbours and Premier League Champions Liverpool. It had exactly been 10 years(17th October,2010) when Everton last won a Derby game. This time though Everton were top of the table with 4 wins out of 4 whereas Liverpool came into this game with a 7-2 loss against Aston Villa.

Liverpool took the lead inside the 3rd minute from returning Sadio Mane as he fired his shot in the top left hand corner. This game will however be remembered as a controversial match for VAR decisions.

In the 7th minute, Everton keeper Jordan Pickford mistimed his challenge and brought down Virgil Van Dijk.He was fortunate not to concede a penalty and get sent off as Van Dijk was judged offside. However Van Dijk was not that lucky and suffered an Injury. Some Reports suggest he might be having an ACL( Anterior Crucial Ligament) injury and might be out for 7-8 months.

Everton equalised in the 19th minute through a corner swinged in by James Rodriguez and headed in by Michael Keane.Liverpool took the lead again in the 72nd minute thanks to a solid strike from Mohammed Salah who scored his 100th Goal for Liverpool by that strike. This season though Everton had been on another level.

Dominic Calwart Lewin is in a red hot from and he equalised again in the 81st minute by cross from Lucas Digne. Then Everton Striker Richarlison saw a red card when he mistimed his tackle on Thiago in the 88th minute of the game. With Everton down to 10 man, it looked like Liverpool's Skipper Jordan Henderson had won the game in the 93rd minute when his shot was too much for Pickford but VAR disallowed his goal as Sadio Mane was seen offside in the buildup. He was offside by 1 Freaking Inch, that close and the game finished 2-2
