Saif Ali Khan Earned Back Pataudi Palace Through Hard Earned Money.

Saif Ali Khan is maybe the only actor who has a palace to his name. The estate, also called Ibrahim Kothi, is one of the main tourist attractions in the town of Pataudi in Haryana’s Gurgaon district. The royal and opulent interiors of the palace are famous among travelers.

However, not many people know Saif had to earn back the Pataudi Palace when it was rented to a hotel chain. He refurbished the majestic palace after his father cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi’s demise. During a recent interview, the Bollywood actor revealed he had to buy the property back with the hard-earned money from his films.

Saif says people can't live off their past and this incident was a perfect example. Despite a privileged upbringing, there was no inheritance to the property and the celebrated actor says even there is history, culture, beautiful photographs; and, of course, some land, you have to work hard.

[It is to be noted that, the Pataudi Palace is spread across 10 acres with 150 rooms that includes seven dressing rooms, seven bedrooms, seven billiard rooms, along with palatial drawing rooms and dining rooms. The property is said to be valued at a staggering Rs 800 crores.

Interestingly, critically acclaimed films such as Julia Roberts starring ‘Eat Pray Love’, ‘Mangal Pandey’, ‘Veer Zara’, ‘Gandhi: My father’ and ‘Mere Brother ki Dulhan’ have been shot at this palace.]
