Tampa Bay Rays take a huge step towards World Series by beating Astros in Game 3

 

The Third game of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) saw The Tampa Bay Rays take a huge step towards the 2020 World Series as they Defeated Houston Astros 5-2 to take a 3-0 lead in the best of seven series.

25 year old Jose Urquidy started the game for the Astros, who had made his debut for them in July 2019. He started the 3rd game of the ALDS against the Oakland Athletics in which he gave away 4 home runs in 4 innings.

Jose Altuve whose mistakes indirectly costed Astros the Game 2 started off well with the bat as he slammed in his 4th HR of the postseason in the bottom of the first innings to make it 1-0 to the Astros.

After some defensive masterclass from both sides, the break through game in the top of the 6th inning from the Rays. Another game,another throwing error from Jose Altuve again cost the game for the Astros. He didn't commit a single error in the entire regular season but has now committed 3 errors in 2 game. If this error would not have occured then it would have been an easy double play.

With Bases Loaded, Joey Wendle delivered a 2 run RBI double to make it 2-1 for the Rays as they started to make most of Astros's mistakes. Then 2 back to back batter hits with bases loaded made it 3-1 for the Rays. Then with bases loaded a bloop hit from Hunter Renfroe made it 5-1 for the Rays as they started to dominate again.

A solo home run from Michael Brantley, his 3rd of the postseason made it 5-2 in the top of the 6th innings. 2 bases loaded escape in the top of the 7th and 8th innings showed the dominace of Rays defensive plays and the lack of Astros batting lineup.

No runs were scored as Rays Defeated Astros 5-2 and to take game 3 and are now 1 win away from the World Series. For Houston they will need more than luck to overcome a 3 game deficient.
