MP Police Books Two Netflix Officals

 

An FIR has been registered against two executives of the OTT Platform Netflix in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly "hurting religious sentiment" through its web series "A Suitable Boy" which showed kissing scenes on the campus of a temple.

The FIR has named Monika Shergill Vice President Content (Netflix) and Ambika Khurana Director. They are booked by Rewa Police on a complain filed by Bhartiya Janta Party Yuva Morcha(BJPM) national secretary Gaurav Tiwari who has demanded an apology and removal of this scene. He stated that this scenes were promoting "Love Jihad".

"I have asked officals to examine the series 'A Suitable Boy' being streamed on Netflix to check if kissing scenes in it were filmed in a temple and If it hurt religious sentiments" said Tiwari.

Rewa Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar Singh has told reporters that the case has been registered and Investigation is underway.

This six part Netflix series is directed by Mira Nair who is known for her critically acclaimed films like "Saalam Bombay", "Monsoon Wedding" and "The Namesake".
