The Prime Minister also addressed a public meeting in Khajuri and inaugurate a six-lane road from Rajatlab to Handia. The road holds much importance for UP as it is part of the golden quadrilateral Delhi-Kolkata corridor, and connects the two holy districts of Prayagraj and Varanasi.
Addressing the public meeting at Khajuri, PM Modi said, “The new farm laws don’t stop anyone who wishes to sell produce according to the old system. Earlier, any sale outside a mandi was considered illegal and small farmers were cheated as they were not able to reach the mandis. The farmers now are protected by law against cheating and fraud.”

“There’s a new trend now, earlier decisions of government were opposed, now rumours have become the basis for the opposition. Propaganda is spread that although the decisions are correct, it can lead to other consequences, about things that haven’t happened or will never happen. Same is with farm laws,” PM Modi said.
This is the first time the Prime Minister attended the Dev Deepawali, which is celebrated on the 15th day after Deepawali. PM Modi lit the first diya at Rajghat. Arrangements have been made for more than 15 lakh diyas, up from 10 lakh last year, which were lit across 80 ghats.
