Second Wave of Covid-19 likely to be in January-February: Maharashtra Government

 

The Maharashtra Government is said to be anticipating a second wave of Covid-19 and have asked the Authorities to show no complacency in testing and said labs should be functioning in every district.

A circular from the from the government's health data have dated on November 11 that a second wave of Covid-19 is likely to take place in January-February. The second wave is expected on what's happening in Europe now.

The Circular also said that since October, the number of Covid-19 cases has seen a decrease in Maharashtra which is the country's worst affected state. The second wave of virus has hitted in many European countries and a month long lockdown has been placed.

Currently Maharashtra has recorded 17,40,488 Covid-19 cases and have reported 45,720 deaths. According to World Health Organisation (WHO) Around 140 tests per 10 lakh population should be done. That's why the Maharashtra Government has asked for labs to function in every district.
