Of the 16 Injured in this unfortunate accident, 12 of them have been shifted to the city's King Edward Memorial Hospital as known as KEM Hospital. The other 4 have been shifted to Global Hospital. Mumbai's Mayor Kishori Pednekar had visited the injured people in the KEM Hospital later in the evening.

According to reports it is said that a pre-wedding ritual was taking place in the second floor of the building. Among the 16 Injured, 10 are supposed to be critical with burns around 70-95%.

Officals state that there was a gas leakage which led to a minor fire which further led to the blasting of the cylinder. Several relatives had come to the Bride's house for the Haldi (Turmeric) ceremony.

Kishori Pednekar said "16 people mostly relatives of the bride and her father sustained serious injuries in the incident. The private hospital was asking for admission deposit amount before starting the treatment of seriously injured and the process only after BMC adminstration intervention. I understand that they need to complete the deposit formalities, but during such incidents, they should adopt a sensitive approach and start the treatment immediately instead of waiting for deposit amount."
