Former Indian Ambassadors: Canadian PM's Comment "Uncalled For" On Farmers Agitation

 Earlier Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau commented on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti that the farmers agitation in India saying "the situation is concerning and we are all very worried about family and friends."

Responding to this comments former Indian Ambassadors said that this comments were "uncalled for","disconnected with ground realities" and severed merely "to fan the flames."

"Such blatant interference in India's internal affairs to appease a section of the Liberal Party's voter base is completely unacceptable and cannot but cast a long shadow on bilateral relations" said the former ambassadors.

Khalistani elements in Canada have control over several prominent Gurudwaras which gives them access to substantial funds some of which are allegedly diverted to electoral campaign and political parties, the diplomats added.
