Aam Aadmi Party To Contest In The 2022 Uttar Pradesh Elections

 

"UP deserves benefits like Delhi" says Kejriwal

On Tuesday,Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that his party Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh elections.

In a press conference Kejriwal said that Uttar Pradesh does not have good schools and hospitals and people are facing irregular power supply. He said that when the contest for Election in 2022, he thinks Uttar Pradesh will become a developed state.

The AAP formed the government in Delhi for the third time earlier this year. They won the Delhi Assembly Elections in 2020 with a landslide margin. They won 62 out of the 70 seats available, while the remaining 8 went to Bhartiya Janta Party.

In the press conference Kejriwal announced the plans of free electricity and construct world class Schools and Hospitals in UP. The AAP will be seeking votes on Delhi model of governance.

In the 2017 UP assembly elections they campaigned against BJP but didn't contest the polls. In that BJP secured 312 out of the 403 seats. Samajwadi Party finished second with 47 seats.
