With the conclusion of the ODI Series between India and Australia, it was time for both of them to start a 3 match Series of the shortest format of the game in the form of T20 International. Australia won the ODI Series by 2-1 but came into this match with a lose.
Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was a slow start from India and quickly lost the first wicket after Shikhar Dhawan was bowled out by Mitchell Starc at the score of 11/1. Indian Captain Virat Kohli also failed to make an impact Today as he just managed just 9 runs of 9 balls.
A short parternship between KL Rahul and Sanju Samson followed. However India lost 3 quick wickets in 3 overs and went from 86/2 in 11 Overs to 92/5 at the end of the 14th over losing Sanju Samson,Manish Pandey and KL Rahul in the process. Rahul managed to score a half century scoring 51 off 40 balls.
Just as we saw in the 3rd ODI, it was all done to Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. This time tough Pandya wasn't able to make an impact and we as caught out the at score of 114/6 with 3 overs still left. Despite that India managed to score 46 runs in the last three overs to put a defending score of 161/7 with Jadeja playing an unbeaten of 44 Runs of 23 balls which included 5 fours and a six and give India a much needed momentum.
Australia were still without David Warner. They started out start with D Arcy Short and Aaron Finch. However the Aussies lost 3 Wickets in quick succession losing Finch,Smith and Maxwell.
Short and wicketkeeper Matthew Wade stabilized the inning with a 38 run stand but with the loss of both in quick succession made it next to impossible for Australia.In the end Australia managed to score 150/7 in the 20 overs and lost the match by 11 runs.
