India-Pakistan Series Soon To Be Back?

On Monday November 30, Newly appointed Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Greg Barclay said that he will try his best to bring India and Pakistan on the same page on Cricketing matters.

Speaking on the relationship between the Board of Control of Cricket in India(BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) said that these matters are beyond Cricket and that the ICC will take steps to strengthen relations between the two boards.

He said "I would love nothing more than for India and Pakistan to be able to continue Cricketing relations as they were previously. I am also enough of a realist to understand that there are geo-political issues at play here. I think all we can do at ICC is to continue to help and support in any way we can to bring about outcomes that would see India and Pakistan in a position where they can play cricket regularly each other and in their home territories."

Indo-Pak Cricket Series stopped in the mid 2000s after repeatedly rising of tensions between the two countries. Pakistan were also removed as Joint Host of the 2011 World Cup after the Sri Lankan Cricket team was attacked by Terrorists in Pakistan. India have had a superior hand in terms of cricket with two world cup honour (1983,2011) to Pakistan one in 1992. In Head to Head 50 over World Cup matches, India have Defeated Pakistan 7 times(1992,1996,1999,2003,2011,2015 and 2019).
