India Take Control on Day 3 from Aussie Batting Disaster

 

Having finished Day 2 at the score of 277/5, India headed into Day 3 to continue their dominance and take a firm hold of this test.

With Jadeja on the score of 49, he tried to take a quick single and found out Labuschagne.His throw was in time and Though it looked like Rahane had made it safely back in the crease,the replays showed he was perhaps millimeters away from the crease and lost his wicket in the most annoying process for an batsmen. He walked back to the Pavilion scoring 112 of 223 balls with 12 fours to his name.

Jadeja would later Complete his fifty but couldn't carry on long as the short ball started troubling him.He tried to lay on off from Starc but found the ball straight in the hands of Cummins to end his inning with the scores now 306/7 with Jadeja contribution important 57 runs.

The Tail of India were just too weak to face the Aussie bowlers and lost the last 3 wickets in quick succession in the space of 1 run and India were bowled out for 326 from 115.1 overs with a 131 run lead over the Australians.

Just like the first innings,Joe Burns was dismissed quickly as he was caught behind by Umesh Yadav these time. Matthew Wade was joined by Marnus Labuschagne in the middle as the duo looked to stabilize the inning.

Just as it looked like both are doing good, Ravichandran Ashwin got the better of Labuschagne as the ball turned away and Labuschagne tried to defend it,only for it to be edged and get caught in the slip. Australia ended the session with the score of 65/2 with Wade and Steve Smith still in the middle.

In the final session of Day 3, the Australian batting lineup collapsed and soon found themselves from 71/2 to 99/6 losing Smith,Wade, Travis Head and Captain Tim Paine in the process. Paine was seen shaking his head after the DRS judged him out,with him believing that there was no contact with his bat.

Cameron Green and Pat Cummins then brought the inning back on track adding 34 runs in the last 18 overs and not losing the wicket.Australia finished the day with the score at 133/6 and have a 2 run lead and will hope to continue the batting for a longer time on Day 4.
