Widely regarded as one of India's best match winners in limited overs and the Player of the Tournament of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, Yuvraj Singh celebrates his 39th Birthday Today. We at the Su-Niti News wish him a Happy Birthday.

Born in Punjab,Yuvraj made his debut and began his career with Punjab's U16s in 1995. He made his first class debut with Punjab in the U19s in the 1997-98 Ranji Trophy. He was also a important part in the 2000 U19 World Cup which India won under the captaincy of Mohammed Kaif. His fine performances in the tournament earned him the player of the tournament award and a call up to the national team.

After a short international breakthrough which included a stunning 84 runs inning of 80 balls against the Australian attack of Glenn McGrath,Brett Lee and Jason Gillespie, he was dropped from the national team and returned to state Cricket.

He was a part of the Indian Squad that reached the 2003 World Cup final but didn't have much of an impact. His career got resurrected in 2007. He made a comeback in the 2007 Cricket World Cup in which India were eliminated by Bangladesh.

He was named the Vice Captain of the inaugural ICC Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa. His delivered a historic innings against England. After exchanging some words with England's Andrew Flintoff, he slammed 6 Sixes off 6 balls against Stuart Board in the next over scoring 36 runs and completing his 50 in just 12 balls.

Following the success of the T20 World Cup win in 2007, he enjoyed a great run in the 2011 Cricket World Cup scoring 362 runs which included one century and 4 half centuries and took 15 wickets and won four MOTM awards.

During the World Cup match against West Indies, it was seen that he was having problem with respiration. Later it was found that he was diagnosed with cancer in the tumor stage 1 in the left lung.

He was treated under chemotherapy in Boston and was discharged in 2012 after completing 3 cycles of chemotherapy. He made is comeback in 2012 T20 World Cup. He retired from International Cricket on 10th June,2019.
