19 Year Old Teen beaten to Death by Lover at New Year's Party

In a shocking start to the New Year, a 19 Year old teen girl was found brutally beaten to death by her boyfriend and another teenager on the ground floor of a building in Khar(West).

The case is suspected to be of a love triangle gone wrong. The victim Jhanvi Kukreja along with the two suspects Shree Jogdhankar (22) and Diya Padankar (19). The trio were at a 10th floor terrace party at Bhagwati Heights organised by some youngsters who lived there.

The Police have told the Mediapersons that amidst the loud noise of music, the attendes of the party they spotted the victim and the Suspects pushing each other,though they were not sure what led to the fight.

A Police officer said "Kukreja's close friends she was brutally beaten up by the duo they allegedly grabbed her by the hair and pulled her down the stairs to the second floor. Bloodstains were found at the staircase. Those at the party rushed downstairs and saw the victim. Jogdhankar is the prime suspect."

Police Suspect that a fight broke out between them when Kukreja suspected Jogdhankar of cheating her with Padankar. Kukreja is said to be a resident of Santacruz while the suspects are from Khar.

"As of now the exact motive is unclear. It is a suspected case of love triangle. The two detained have also been hurt,with Jogdhankar suffering injuries on his head and back" said an officer.

When the CCTV footage of the building was checked, Kukreja was seen leaving the terrace with the suspects in the middle of the party at 12:30 am. "She was found dead with injuries around 2:30 am on the building premises. She is suspected to be pushed down the stairs" added the officer.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone IX) Abhishek Trimukhe said that the terrace party started at 11pm on Thursday. As the number of attendees was not large, no one from building complained about the nuisance. The BMC have been said to be Investigation the building for breaking the Covid-19 norms released by the Civic body.

Case under the the Indian Penal Code of section 302 for murder has been registered against the duo.
